Commonly referred to as foot reflexology, but can be applied to the hands as well. This is a technique that has been used for thousands of years, but has more recently developed and become incorporated within the larger system of bodywork to promote the healthy functioning of the body. Through qualitative analysis it has been determined that specific zones of the feet directly affect the different organs and muscle tissues of the body. The massage therapist uses foot reflexology to assist with the body’s innate ability to address its own chronic conditions, and uses hand reflexology to assist with more acute or more recently acquired conditions. Reflexology is also a great technique that your massage therapist can teach you to do on yourself to support your health between your massage therapy sessions.
